Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
